GoGuardian is looking for an experienced, strategic, and innovative Data Architect to provide direction and thought leadership for multiple parallel data architecture and modeling projects across our organization. This individual will act as a trusted technical partner to the Science and Analytics leadership team as they expand GoGuardian’s use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. This hands-on role will apply direct technical experience to help plan the expansion of our existing data lake and data warehouse systems as well as the next phase in our overall approach to data infrastructure and utilization. 

What You’ll Do

• Provide strategic and tactical guidance around the integration of pre-existing data infrastructure systems into our data warehouse and data lake 
• Evaluate options and determine impacts of various data architecture solutions
• Develop and maintain expertise in emerging analytics infrastructure design patterns such as in-memory analytics, data warehouse appliances, and data warehouse virtualization.
• Produce and maintain detailed documentation including architecture designs, data flow diagrams, logical diagrams, and physical diagrams as needed
• Propose and help the team implement new practices in data modeling, data architecture, and data security
• Propose and help the team implement designs for data privacy solutions
• Assist with code review for purposes of finding errors, learning, and asking new questions
• All other duties as assigned

Who You Are

• 7+ years of experience in designing and building data platforms
• Experience implementing cloud infrastructure, storage, and query optimizations.
• Practical experience with data transformation pipelines and architecture
• Experience with the BI life cycle of data warehousing and data integration projects from design to development to support.
• Proficiency in a modern data-centric coding language such as Python, Go, or Scala
• Experience working with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Luigi, AWS Step Functions
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and highly organized
• Ability to work independently within the policies, processes, and procedures defined for the team
• Desire to work in a fast-paced startup atmosphere requiring constant learning
• Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate and learn new technologies
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work within a team environment
• Bonus if you have: Experience with a broad set of AWS tools (S3, EC2s, AWS Glue, Lambda, Cloudwatch, AWS data pipeline). Experience with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and anonymizing or redacting PII from datasets. Experience leading data integration projects during mergers and acquisitions
