The Analyst role is an integral part of the Capital Markets team at PeerStreet supporting the management of mortgage loan sales, loan portfolio reporting and investor requests for a variety of institutional investor partners.  This entry level role within Capital Markets is a hands-on role organizing loan data, resolving issues, responding to inquiries and supporting the overall Capital Markets team at PeerStreet with ad hoc projects.  

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Track, update and maintain all loan sale data for assigned accounts.
  • Prepare loan sale tapes and commitments to be offered to investor partners.  
  • Conduct analytical work using large data sets in order to analyze live transactions, deal structures and overall portfolio performance.
  • Responsible for supporting investor transactions; establish timelines for due diligence review and settlement deliverables.
  • Monitor due diligence process to ensure adequate and timely resolution of investor’s conditions and exceptions.
  • Finalize a funding loan population with investors and facilitate the settlement process, including execution of closing documentation, reviewing the funding schedule for accuracy, and compiling mortgage loan schedule data.
  • Maintain investor portfolios and deliver accurate reporting on a regular basis.
  • Implement internal processes and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency across loan package sales and reporting.
  • Execute on ad-hoc projects related to our strategic goals with investors.  

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, economics or real estate.  
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and perform in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred in capital markets or in a finance related field.
  • Mortgage and/or real estate industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Interest in fintech or startups is preferred.
  • Skilled in analyzing, interpreting, summarizing and maintaining data.
  • Experience with SQL is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel with ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, pivot tables, etc.
  • Detail-oriented individual who can work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining high attention to detail.
