OVERVIEW:

The Associate Analyst, Analytics & Insights role is responsible for building and scaling our logistics delivery network. The role will define metrics, drive roadmaps, quantify levers, and uncover opportunities to improve our products to assist management with data-driven decision making.

TEAM OVERVIEW:

The GlobalPost Analytics team generates data modeling frameworks which deliver actionable business insights and strategic recommendations for growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Objectives:

  1. Partner with business teams and Product Managers to understand business solutions and requirements
  2. Analyze and report on data to support Business Operations
  3. Manage efficiency and quality of quick tasks, medium and longer-term projects and goals
  4. Serve as a technical resource for business teams to help define, and propose solutions for business opportunities

Essential Position Duties:

  1. Partner with business teams and Product Managers to understand business solutions and requirements
  • Collaborate with product and business leaders, designers, and engineering managers to improve our products and prioritize projects for impact
  • Represent the analytics team in key meetings and business reviews with our executive team and founders
  • Fully understand the business products, services and independent business units
  • Analyze and report on data to support Business Operations
    • Perform basic level analysis in Excel including comparing, merging, entry and advanced formulas
    • Perform larger scale analytical deep-dives to identify problems, opportunities and actions required.
    • Collect, process, and clean data from disparate sources using Tableau Prep, Tableau or other scripting and statistical tools.
    • Create and improve new or existing reports and visual dashboards or process flows as directed by the business
    • Perform quality assurance and ongoing monitoring of current reports and data for accuracy and usage.
  • Manage efficiency and quality of quick tasks, medium and longer-term projects and goals
    • Utilize ‘kanban’ to manage projects and goals
    • Evaluate and plan activities to implement automation of manual data extracts and other manual activities supporting any reporting currently supported by you 
    • Organize multiple priorities to ensure that resources are properly allocated to meet objectives
    • Create and document internal and cross functional standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Serve as a technical resource for business teams to help define, and propose solutions for business opportunities
    • Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
    • Discover, define, and document specifications necessary through research, meetings, information coordination, and documentation of findings and results
    • Generate presentations, business requirements and use cases of findings increase knowledge of the factors which drive our business

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and/or Experience:                                                                 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or another quantitative field preferred.
    • Associate’s degree in business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Two or more (2+) years of analytics / data science experience or equivalent.
    • Business requirement process experience a plus
    • Project management experience a plus
    • ETL/SQL/Tableau experience a plus.

    • Strong analyst who is attentive to detail and sets a high bar for work produced by the team.
    • A strong ability to work with Excel with simple and advanced formulas
    • Skilled at running cross-functional relationships and communicating with leadership across multiple organizations.
    • Ability to utilize data to drive business decisions and create business requirement documents

    Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:                                                  

    • Proficiency in one or more analytics tools (Excel, Tableau) 

    Additional Position Duties:

    • Sit for prolonged periods of time
    • Utilize wrist and hands for a prolonged period of time
    • Walk short distances
    • Stand for short periods
    • Speaking and conversing with others
    • Lift up to 25lbs without assistance up to chest height
