Description
The Sr Systems Administrator/IT Manager is a technical leader and hands-on contributor to the development and operations of the company’s IT networks, hardware, security systems, software tools, platforms, and processes. As a top priority, this role ensures that processes and systems support both the internal needs and requirements of the Business Operations and Engineering teams as well as the needs and requirements of customers and business partners.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide architectural design, implementation, administration, operations, and maintenance for core IT systems, including networks, servers, desktops & laptops, productivity applications, and cloud infrastructure
- Engage with project teams in the design/requirements phase, jointly develop and deploy computing and data infrastructure, and provide quality support throughout the project life cycle
- Engage and collaborate with business leaders to identify key IT needs and develop project timelines based on priorities and resources
- Ensure the efficiency, stability, security, and accessibility of all supported IT applications and infrastructure
- Evaluate standalone and cloud-based software tools for functional requirements, maintainability, and security/IP protection
- Provide helpdesk support for internal and remote users, tracking requests and troubleshooting issues, providing timely resolution and quality communication
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of IT policies
- Assist in maintaining IT inventory, ordering, and deployment of hardware and software
- Review system logs, research and escalate concerns and issues
- Assist with meeting room AV, presentations, and video conferences
- All other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in IT roles demonstrating regular technical and professional development; 3-5 years in a technical lead role
- BS/BA in related field of study a plus
- Broad and deep understanding of modern computing technology, systems and network architecture, data management, information security, and cloud-based services
- Hands on expertise in the developing and implementing strategies in the areas of IT Security and Processes
- Proven ability to understand and deliver on highly technical project requirements
- High level of expertise and experience with administration of Linux, Windows, and MacOS systems
- Experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-based infrastructure
- Demonstrated strong scripting skills in a Linux environment
- Programming skills in a high-level language highly desired
- Advanced network administration and troubleshooting skills highly desired
- Highly collaborative and customer service oriented
- Flexibility for occasional travel and ability to relocate computer equipment as required
