Wonderstorm is a double threat media studio that creates timeless animated TV series and engaging video games that anchor our entertainment franchises.

Our first franchise, the Emmy Award-winning The Dragon Prince, began as an original animated series on Netflix in 2018. All three seasons have been a Top 10 digital original and are rated 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The series was recently picked up for four additional seasons. A world-class video game for The Dragon Prince is under development by the same creative team.

We are looking for a talented Writer's Assistant to join The Dragon Prince writers room to help our team create the next set of stories in Xadia! This position is a great way to break into the industry for individuals who aspire to work in television or animation, particularly in a writing capacity, and will provide first-hand experience and daily collaboration with a passionate team of creators and writers.

What you will do...

• Join an exciting, collaborative, tight-knit writers room
• Assist the day-to-day production workflow for creators and writers, including managing the writing calendar
• Take notes during writing room sessions, organize documents including premises and scripts, and distribute materials
• Conform scripts to final recorded dialogue, locked animatic, and locked picture
• Prepare casting documents for new characters and facilitate review of auditions
• Contribute story ideas for The Dragon Prince and other projects
• Participate in brainstorms and creative work across the company, including video games, graphic novels, etc.
• Develop writing skills and grow with our team
• Actively contribute to the growth of a startup studio. Lead by example, including demonstrating a willingness to give and receive feedback, collaborate with others to share techniques and ideas, and contribute to a positive working environment

Qualifications

• Exceedingly strong skills in note taking, proofreading, editing, and tracking creative ideas
• Attention to detail and organization
• Storytelling and writing talent and a proven interest in further developing those skills
  
• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Comfortable in a startup environment – a small, fast-paced team – and excited for opportunities to grow with the company
