VR Camera Operator (Contract)

We are looking for a Camera Operator (contract) to join Within! Our group is a fast-moving team comprised of visual designers, product engineers, and content creators. The right candidate will be technically adept, an excellent communicator and collaborator, and someone who is passionate about creating leading VR experiences.

What you’ll do:

As a VR Camera Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating all camera equipment for stereoscopic and mixed reality shoots. This role works with the Head of Studio.

Responsibilities: 

• Adhere to exacting quality standards to ensure footage is in focus, properly exposed, and to our specific specifications for framing and composition
• Maintain camera, batteries, monitors, and all other capture equipment to ensure a smooth capture session
• Troubleshoot any and all issues related to stereo capture, including lens alignment, IPD, camera height/tilt
• Collaborate with other film professionals on set to meet rigid deadlines

What you’ll need to be successful: 

• 4+ years of camera operation experience
• 2+ years of experience as a 1st Assistant Camera
• Extensive experience with DSLRs
• Experience shooting stereoscopic footage on side-by-side or beamsplitter rigs
• Extensive jam-sync & timecode experience
• Familiarity with Atomos recording devices
• Experience in setting up and maintaining virtual reality cameras
• Experience working on professional film sets
