POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Training Content Developer will be an advocate for Inspire’s salesforce, making sure that they have all of the tools and content needed to be successful in the field. Training content may take many forms at Inspire; online modules, training manuals, classroom training decks, recurring webinars, etc. The Sales Training Content Developer will have the opportunity to drive Inspire’s training content strategy using a data driven approach that prioritizes results and facts over anecdotal evidence. 

THE SALES TRAINING CONTENT DEVELOPER HAS FIVE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Build Inspire’s Sales Training Content Library: Work directly with Channel Managers, Member Experience, Sales Agents, Product Marketing, and Design to ideate and produce Inspire’s content library.
  2. Maximize Training Effectiveness: Perform A/B cohort testing to determine the most effective training content that drives Sales Agent efficiency
  3. Support Product Line Testing: Work with the Commercial Strategy team to develop training content that supports short-term product line tests aimed at growing Inspire’s customer base and increasing profitability
  4. Learn From the Field: Regularly interview and shadow Sales Agents to learn best practices from our most successful reps. Turn these learnings into actionable training content 
  5. Implement Content Creation Tools: Define requirements and lead the selection process for tools that will create, house, and deliver our training content 

SOME EXPECTED 2020 DELIVERABLES

  • Organize Inspire’s current training content and create a methodology for the ongoing curation of this content 
  • Execute a strategy for updating our current online training modules 
  • Overhaul the content that supports our classroom training experience 
  • Support the continued rollout of Inspire’s Climate product line through robust training content 
  • Develop customized training for some of Inspire’s largest Sales Partners that focuses on their unique sales tactics and market conditions 
  • Identify and fill gaps in our content library for the Retail channel

  • 100% adherence to SLAs for creating and delivering content to key stakeholders 
  • Increase in sales efficiency for Agents interacting with newly developed training content 
  • Deliver regular content curation updates to stakeholders across the business 
  • Ongoing management of content creation tools and the associated vendor relationships

EXPERIENCE

  • Must Have
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • 2-4 years in a sales training or content development role
    • Experience managing a content library
    • Strong grasp of the Google suite of business tools 
    • Proven track record of delivering training content on time, within scope, and within budget 
    • Impeccable note taking ability and attention to detail 
  • Nice to Have
    • Understanding of the residential energy supply market 
    • Experience creating content for sales agents working in a door to door or retail setting 
    • Experience delivering training content through learning management systems
    • Familiarity with instructional design tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline
