Job objective:  Epirus is looking for a self-starter that is capable of working across multiple teams both in person and remotely. The Epirus Proposal Writer is an integral part of the business development, technical writing, and marketing teams. The position is responsible for working across departments to develop and augment a library of approved content and ensure that content is updated on a regular basis. Most importantly, the Proposal Writer is capable of proactively coordinating with subject matter experts to draft clear, concise, accurate, and compliant responses to defense customer inquiries.


Duties 

  • Collaborates with subject engineering leads, technical architects, contracts, and program managers to identify and curate content necessary for RFx responses
  • Supports technical writing for patents, proposals, and white papers
  • Works directly with the Business Development, Media, and Engineering teams and interviews SMEs across each division to capture technical writing for various government and commercial audiences
  • Engages with R&D and Engineering team to conduct research, develop appropriate content, and garner approvals
  • Reviews final documents for editing and content review
  • Manages multiple proposals at any given time while meeting internal customer-driven timelines
  • Ensures all deliverables are in accordance with federal compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 3-5 years technical proposal writing experience for DoD, Intelligence Community, Federal Civilian agencies
  • Deep understanding of RFP Evaluation Criteria and Instructions to Offerors (Sections M and L)
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Illustrator and other desktop publishing tools
  • Technical aptitude with R&D concepts from our Engineering / Product Development team
  • R&D Grant Proposals and tenders in the Defense / Military/ Government sector
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain DoD secret clearance
  • US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)

Desired Qualifications

  • APMP and/or PMP certification
  • Experience writing proposals for a DOD program office
  • Technical writing experience in electronic warfare
  • Experience using Jira/Agile methods
  • Understanding of RF or Power Electronics
  • Data driven decision maker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of organization

Location

Our company is located in Torrance, just off of the 405. We moved into our new 100,000+ square foot facility in November 2021 and love calling it home.
