As a Director of Content Strategy for PlayVS, you’ll lead a world-class brand and creative team with a primary focus on identifying and developing a content strategy and roadmap. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Creative, Product Marketing, Performance Marketing, and Customer Service teams across PlayVS to understand the esports community and its stakeholders from the ground up. 

Here's What You'll Get To Do:

* Own and develop the PlayVS content strategy and roadmap for all external facing channels: Web, YouTube, Twitch, owned social, email, and print.

* Responsible for the overall web experience on PlayVS.com which includes homepage, blog, sales enablement, and seasonal content. 

* Work closely with the Brand and Content Producer to define and prioritize the creative approval and production process. 

* Utilize research and analytics insights to inform content strategy and planning, and lead to an expertise level understanding of our audience. 

* Collaborate with leadership to hone strategy and messaging. And be able to drive consensus and support in a relatively flat organization. 

* Assist with content budgeting and forecasting.

* Partner with internal and external teams to develop meaningful content and bring strategies to life.

* Stay on top of the competitive landscape across game and esports media, synthesize findings and communicate across the organization. 

* Manage a highly creative and talented team of writers, designers and producers. 

* Manage PR strategy and communications through an external agency. 

* Address feedback and improve performance of our content and customer experience.

* Boil down complex systems into coherent, concise, and compelling narratives, interface copy, user experience and brand strategies.

Here's What We're Looking For:

* 8+ years of experience in gaming or sports media (competition and promotional content experience a plus). At least 4 years of people management experience.

* Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills; both written and verbal.

* History of developing content that resonates with the desired audience and drives them to action. .

* A combination of left- and right-brained skills, from storytelling to systematic thinking.

* Proficiency developing well-informed points of view, while also remaining willing to adjust them based on input from others.

* Can write from scratch, edit existing copy, and think beyond the written word with input from multiple team members.

* Penchant for long-term thinking paired with quick action.

* Comfort for managing teams and projects simultaneously.

* Production experience and interest in improving processes. 

Not Required, But It’d Be Nice If:

* Degree in Communications or Marketing.

* A passion for content, technology, brands, digital media, and digital video.

* Video gaming and/or esports experience.

* Knowledge of full-funnel marketing including email, social, and digital display.

* Familiarity with video gaming/esports culture and personalities.

* Familiarity with Twitch and YouTube ecosystem.
