Staff Audio Engineer

Playa Vista, CA

The Audio Engineer is responsible for engineering Mocap and VO Sessions, client communication and delivery of assets. In addition, the role includes designing and maintaining audio hardware and software systems and functioning as an onsite resource to troubleshoot and rectify any issues that the sound staff encounter. The ideal candidate is able to easily communicate with clients, deliver clean audio recordings and maintain department systems and studios

Responsibilities:

  • Assist house engineer in designing studio audio systems and standards
  • Maintain database for all hardware, software, in the department
  • Manage the audio system on the mocap stages, advise on updates and maintenance
  • Research, analyze, and recommend system improvements across the department
  • Troubleshoot and install studio hardware and software
  • Perform engineering duties including client communication for mocap and VO sessions
  • Perform mix and sound design tasks as necessary
  • Interface with manufacturers, developers, engineers, and project managers to provide resolutions for audio systems and to provide support and maintenance of equipment
  • Provide oversight over the development, upgrade, and repair of all Audio systems onsite
  • Provide technical support and training to onsite staff

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an audio studio
  • At least 2 years of experience with Mocap technologies
  • In depth knowledge of studio equipment and systems
  • Customer Service/Client based experience a must

Desired qualifications:

  • Pro Tools knowledge
