Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Lean Facilitator within Customer Support Integration. This position is located in Seal Beach, CA.
As a Lean Practitioner within Customer Support Integration & Digital Systems, you will be supporting teams resolving large and complex problems regarding aircraft performance, reliability, and lifecycle cost. You will be able to combine the deep expertise and resources of the entire Boeing enterprise with the flexibility and fast pace of a small company setting. You will have opportunities to collaborate with people from all over the world while supporting continuous improvement, quality, and operational excellence.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead & guide teams to work through the One Boeing Production System (One BPS) process
  • Collaborate with cognizant engineers and subject matter experts as necessary to identify process and quality improvement opportunities and plans
  • Lead Lean workshops with cognizant stakeholders and document results and lessons learned
  • Set expectations, remove roadblocks, elevate help needed, and enable organizations to participate and execute One BPS
  • Provide visibility of progress to Boeing leadership on a regular basis
  • Teach teams the One BPS principles and techniques so they too can be practitioners
  • Integrate lessons learned with other teams to ensure the proliferation of best practices
  • Collaborate and engage with external entities regarding Lean which may include Airline Customers, Suppliers, and other entities
  • Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required


This position is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting (1-2 days per week). The selected candidate will be required to perform most work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have at least 3 years of Lean Operations experience
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience leading or facilitating workshops
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience working independently with limited supervision
  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior leaders and executives


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience supporting engineering and customer support
  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience Boeing Production System (BPS) and/or Toyota Production System (TPS) concepts
  • Experience with the Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM)
  • Experience coaching team members and leaders in an operations environment
  • Competency in design/build prototype, influencing others, Lean knowledge, process management skills and project leadership


Typical Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
