Acorns is seeking a VP/Director of Analytics to oversee the Analytics team in delivering high-value strategic and analytical projects across all business units. In this role, you’ll leverage your consultative and analytical expertise to steer the end-to-end analytics process – from implementation and data-gathering, through to the coordination and harmonization of insights in order to deliver a best-in-class product and experience for our users. Job Description:

  • Develop and manage Acorns’ analytics strategy; Articulate a strong vision for the creative use of data and analytics that focuses on scale as well as an evolving market
  • Drive and manage Analytics team in the development and scope of key strategy and cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Own end-to-end product, customer, and marketing analytics; Analyze and mine both structured and unstructured data to drive product centric as well as user-centric insights
  • Create and monitor Acorns’ relevant KPIs, competitive strategies and support ongoing intelligence gathering and delivery through dashboards and tools
  • Develop strategic perspectives on new business opportunities and assessing the risks/benefits
  • Oversee the design and deployment of all reporting, frameworks and tools
  • Be a leader and establish relationships across the organization to align data strategy in support of analytics and identify opportunities for using best in class models and algorithms
  • Continually review the environment to challenge assumptions around uses of data, tools, talent and potential partners
  • Be an expert, a thought leader, a role model, and a mentor in analytical methods.
  • Be hands on working shoulder to shoulder with the team.
Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred
  • 10+ years relevant experience (i.e. management consulting, FP&A)
  • Expert knowledge of complex analytical techniques including predictive modeling, optimization techniques, etc. Preferably in churn reduction, customer lifetime value, targeting, and attribution. 
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SQL 
  • Hands on mastery of R, Python, and other tools for conducting exploratory analytical projects and for building predictive models.
  • Proven experience in deploying analytics, reporting and predictive models into production in a multi-channel environment of email, web, and app.
  • Demonstrated track record managing large and complex consulting projects
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects with demanding deadlines in a team environment
  • High interpersonal ability and influence skills to lead projects working with senior management, cross functional teams, and gifted individual contributors.
