We’re looking for awesome mobile-focused (Android) UX Designers to join our team in Santa Monica. You will work closely with the User Experience team, Product leads and executives in the development of critical TrueCar products. You will have influence on the direction of major company objectives and be expected to solve difficult design problems innovatively. You will be involved in every step of the product development process up to and including the point where you are making sure what you designed is built right. You are a gifted interaction designer and have the ability to translate your vision not only into beautiful designs, but into functional prototypes to demonstrate interactions and feel.
You know Photoshop or Illustrator or Sketch like the back of your hand. You also know any number of wireframing and prototyping tools including and not limited to: InVision, Axure RP, Flinto, Flash, Quartz Composer, etc.
The perfect person for this role has successfully designed and shipped consumer-facing mobile apps. You are passionate about bringing exceptionally-designed experiences to all mobile devices and are well-versed in both mobile OS platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate vision and ideas through interactive prototyping
- Design flows and experiences that are simple and elegant.
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and transform them into something useful
- Give and solicit feedback from other designers, stakeholders and users to continually raise the quality of your designs. You excel at riffing on ideas with your teammates.
- Partner with Product Leads, engineers, executives, etc. to develop compelling user experiences from beginning to end.
- Possesses deep understanding of mobile design patterns, app design, mobile interactions, etc. (Android and iOS)
- Iterates through design ideas very rapidly.
- Keeps current with advances in interaction and contemporary design patterns.
Requirements:
- You’ve designed and shipped consumer-facing mobile apps – Send us some app store links!
- Self-motivated and passionate about solving complex problems – bonus points if you’re a car fanatic.
- Internalizes and cares about the company strategy and vision, not just how things look.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can defend your design decisions.
- Experience with rapid, agile or iterative development.
- Requires prior experience shipping consumer-facing products
- Portfolio featuring examples of interaction design work.
