ROLE SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a Content Strategy + Social Media wizard join the Brand Marketing Team at Dollar Shave Club. This person should be a mix of art and science, understanding the technical side of SEO and Reputation Management while also managing the art of creating + organizing content, business priorities and reach & frequency between DSC’s paid, earned + owned channels. This innovative self-starter will help lead the growth and profitability of our Dollar Shave Club through orchestrating our organic social media and overall content strategy by partnering interdepartmentally with Content/Editorial, Social, CRM, Media, Brand Marketing brand and more. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:CONTENT:

  • Partner across multiple teams to lead the development of a centralized content strategy that ties together editorial calendars, social calendars, business priorities, product launches and more.
  • Content Planning
  • Content Calendar Development
  • Copy Development (oversight)
  • Create and manage content ecosystem mapping + documentation based on aligned company annual messaging strategies.
  • Strategy + Execution within content and channels. Once strategy locked, coordination of many cross functional channel owners for orchestration of content within specific channels
  • Develop content distribution measurement platform + reporting, anchored in collective short term, long term performance KPIs as well brand metrics
  • Conduit between Content Teams and Marketing Teams sitting within Marketing, bridging editorial with all member and non-member marketing + communication.
  • Focus on partnership with Channel Owners to establish and define specific channel roles and guidelines for content and distribution.

SOCIAL:

  • Manage the executional social media team and daily operations
  • Drive social + content strategy, delivering best in class social media marketing to our members and guests.
  • Build out and develop organic reach and frequency through new touch points and social channels
  • Create and drive brand guidelines and standards per social channel
  • Drive social media best practices and new to market social innovation through new platforms and media
  • Orchestrate measurement and reporting infrastructure for social media initiatives

SEO:

  • Partner with Digital Product, Brand Marketing + Engineering to deliver SEO best practice strategies and constant recommendations.
  • Manage external SEO agency relationship
  • Lead Reputation Management practice to include:
  • Monitoring: SERP labeling, SRP tracking, Google Alerts, Wikipedia page management
  • Lead SEO practice at DSC to include:
  • Brand Discovery: Competitive Analysis, Archiving, Impact, Positive Web Association
  • Content Development: On Page Audits, Third Party Content and more
  • Community Outreach: Allie outreach and 3rd party relationship curation

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Social, Content Marketing and SEO in a leading strategist role (brand direct or agency role)
  • Experience developing, managing, executing and measuring Content Marketing and SEO programs for medium-to-large brands (ecommerce/retail preferred)
  • Understanding of SEO best practices to assist Digital Product + Engineering Teams with site and campaign optimization (SEO technical optimization)
  • Experience with analytics:
  • SEO reporting tools, Social reporting tools and site reporting tools (Google Analytics/Ominture)
  • Previous experience with organic social media marketing and community management
  • Analytical mind with ability to plan, measure and report on program successes through targeted KPI’s.
  • Proven strategic thinker with excellent analytical capabilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate and work well with others
  • Strong project management skillset with experience managing workflow between different departments and channel owners
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-energy environment that requires ability to multi-task
  • Self starter, not afraid to drive the business forward, asking for forgiveness vs permission
