THE ROLE:

You will be a member of the Amobee product and technology team that owns the ad-serving and trafficking technologies. Our ad servers handle thousands of requests per second in a geographically distributed, highly performant and fault-tolerant manner. You will work with the wider department on leading edge advertising, big data, and automation technologies. This job is about the capability and energy that you bring to make world class software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Integrate and build services and components to produce highly-available, fault-tolerant, and low-latency near real-time ETL systems.

Develop data streams for analytics and business automation

Design systems for use by the technology team and for business users

Participate in agile (scrum) process and collaborate with wiki document and scrum tracking

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering, or comparable work related experience
• 1+ years of experience with Python, Scala, or Java
• 1+ years of unix/linux background including shell-scripting
• Understanding and experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle)
• Experience with version control systems (git,svn), be comfortable with branching and merging
• Familiarity with one or more BI reporting platforms (knowledge of Microstrategy or Tableau is a big plus)
• Familiarity with NoSQL concepts and platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Hbase)
• Ability to creatively solve problems and thrive when faced with new and unique challenges.
• Familiarity of an agile/scrum project environment
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Outstanding programming and debugging skills
• Familiarity with Build Management, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing (maven, jenkins)
• Understanding and comfort with enterprise frameworks for dependency injection, object relational mapping and logging (spring framework, hibernate, slf4j)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years of experience with Java, Python, or Scala.
• 2+ years of unix/linux background including shell-scripting
• Advanced degree (Masters) in Computer Science, Math or Engineering

LOCATION:

Santa Monica, CA, but exceptional, self-driven remote candidates will also be considered.
