Context

Hawke Media is looking to hire its very first developer/engineer. We want to bridge the gap between marketing and technology from the marketers side, and you are going to help us do it! AI isn't here yet and marketing automation is weak - we are true marketers that understand the nuance of customer acquisition, retention, re-engagement and social proof. This role is a full-time position that actively participates in working among our operation division - with our business intelligence expert, to support and maintain databases; contributing to database designing, development, implementation, review, in order to support our strategic business decisions to come!

Responsibilities

• Analyze, plan, develop, deploy, and manage critical production systems and BI infrastructure

• Develop ad-hoc queries and reports on demand with short turnaround times as determined by business priorities

• Strong ability to carry out research and prototype new database features, design, and architecture ahead of mainstream development

• Proactively initiate and contribute in system improvements and innovations

• Review the database designs, code, and test plans of other developers and provide recommendations for improvement or optimizations

• Document systems, code and processes as necessary

• build an internal data warehouse (then query, analyze and predict)

• work with our existing BI pro to extract, store, correlate and predict rad things from mountains of data

• develop new programmatic ad-buying tools

• build a new internal document management system/repository

• find meaningful ways to enable our 100+ person staff with technology

• evaluate and implement new tech platforms in the marketing automation space

• continue to build our existing portfolio of in-house tools

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, SQL Server certification a plus

• First proven related Database Engineer/Developer experience with SQL Server on Windows is required

• Projects designing and developing database in MS SQL Server utilizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, queries etc.

• Experience of managing and developing SQL Server, BI Suite, database custom tools using SQL Server Data

• Strong technical, communication skills, interpersonal skills and good judgment

• Ability to think analytically, plan for future growth of systems/tools, troubleshoot and solve database issues

• Quick learner, deep thinker, excellent problem solver and a team player

• Ability and desire to dig into complex problems, ask good questions and learn from your mistakes

• Experience and some basic understanding of programming languages, specifically C#
