The Joybird Marketing team manages all online social communities to further engage consumers, extend brand awareness, and acquire new fans of the brand. Together we manage and grow the social communities on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube including writing copy, pulling/editing images and videos, reporting analytics, and strategic planning. 

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Social Media Manager is a results-driven social media native who stays a step of ahead of social media trends, and relish adapting to and leveraging every algorithmic shift the platforms throw your way. Punchy copywriting skills come naturally to you, and you have a proven eye for thumb-stopping, innovative content. You’re creative at your core, and you’re always looking for something different, something better in the land of social, and are eager to explore every new frontier. Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, planning, execution, and ongoing optimization of Joybird’s social presence
  • Own development and execution of social media strategies against key initiatives including community building, fan growth, brand awareness, and advocacy
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of social media strategy, including scheduling, posting, and community managing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and other emerging social platforms.
  • Act as a liaison who coordinates across departments to source and craft content into a cohesive story that is delivered across all social channels
  • Build and oversee the monthly content calendar to plan optimized content for each platform.
  • Collaborate with Creative team to proactively develop and deliver best-in-class digital content including, but not limited to, images, videos, GIFs, IG stories, and Facebook Live.
  • Develop social media campaigns for new product launches, marketing campaigns, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Keep finger on the pulse of social trends, new platform features and best practices, and provide channel and community insights with actionable next steps on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop deep understanding and ownership of brand voice and knowledge.
  • Moderate the collection, curation, and integration of user-generated content on social media and e-commerce website.
  • Deliver weekly analytics reports.
  • Work closely with Marketing to align social media editorial calendars and strategy with other marketing activity.
  • Remain immersed in all emerging technologies/media and competitive landscape to determine the latest trends and what is relevant for business.
  • Work with marketing team to manage social media and content budget.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience growing online communities and developing social media campaigns with a proven track record of results (please provide links to profiles as example)
  • Proactive go-getter who takes the initiative to get things done and constantly reflects on and optimizes his/her work.
  • Analytical ability to translate data into actionable insights, must have solid understanding of social analytics and reporting
  • Active and well-rounded personal presence on social media, with a command of each network and their best practices.
  • Creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to drive and influence decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to present information in group environments.
  • Excellent copywriter with the proven ability to be concise, yet impactful in brand voice
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment, adapting to continually changing priorities and ambitious project timeframes
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends, if needed
  • Open to travel up to 20%
  • Experience with paid social media strategy, preferred
  • Photography / videography experience, preferred
