ConsumerTrack is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager, Data to join our product team. Over the past 12 years, ConsumerTrack has grown within the personal finance verticals, dramatically expanding the volume of data collected. With this growth comes the opportunity to leverage our data in new and meaningful ways to drive improvements across all aspects of the organization.

The Senior Product Manager, Data will work across all departments to define our data strategy, drive the data roadmap and develop tracking requirements for all new product features. The ideal candidate will be able to guide the day to day data plans while also thinking long term about the best ways to manage big data and introduce new data concepts and tools. Great chance to work with many different business units from Ad Ops to Product to Tech and immediately see results. If you think like a product owner, look at the world through the lens of data and enjoy working closely with both engineers and executives, this is the job for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop clear and compelling product requirements / user stories (business justification, revenue potential, and operational impact) for new data warehouse initiatives as well as existing product enhancements such as:
    • DB Technical Infrastructure: Monitoring, performance optimization and capacity planning of database infrastructure as well as major DB migrations.
    • Analytics Tools: Self-serve reporting & analytics solutions using all available tools (Tableau, Google Analytics, real time event logging, third party data, custom reporting, etc).
    • New Product Features: work with product managers and business units to determine data requirements, tracking needs and specifications for all products bringing a data driven mindset to all new features.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams (Product, Media, SEO, Ad Ops, Marketing, and Technology) to develop a cohesive and comprehensive understanding of the key drivers of the business and use that knowledge to shape and drive the data roadmap.
  • Work closely with the tech team to insure quality, accessibility, and consistency of data.
  • Proactively use data to discover areas for growth with our product as well as gaps in the experience.
  • Evangelize the value of data/analytics and help drive a data-informed culture. Data presentation is everything, and the person in this role should have a point of view on how to make our data intelligible and important to the rest of the company.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 - 8 years designing and delivering world-class platform products in a Product Management role, especially data integration or large scale application integration. Experience working in Adtech and/or handling multi-terabyte db migrations from one system to another a plus.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing or Economics preferred.
  • Hypothesis-driven – understanding MVPs and intuitively thinking of what is the easiest and smallest thing we can do to test a hypothesis. An understanding that being a product manager carries the responsibility to ensure we're solving the most important problems, and that the best solutions for those problems are built within our constraints.
  • Exceptional critical reasoning and problem solving skills. Ability to lay out edge cases, identify dependencies, and lay out the if/then in any scenario. You likely find puzzles fun.
  • Passion for data, and familiarity with the industry (ability to debate the merits of cookies versus pixel tracking for off-site and cross platform data collection).
  • Expert knowledge of integrating multiple data sources such as DoubleClick (DFP & DCM), Google AdWords, Social platforms, and Google Analytics and in utilizing BI tools (preferably Tableau) to build reports, dashboards and provide insights into those data sources.
  • Track record of working with multi-disciplinary teams, external partners/clients, and managing stakeholders – strong cross functional leadership and consensus building. Proven ability to drive priorities of teams that are not direct reports.
  • Flexibility – able to flow with project changes; when things shift course mid-stream, you can pivot and help the team re-orient quickly.
