What You’re Applying For:
The Analytics Research and Development team at Edmunds.com is seeking an R&D Senior Analyst who will play a crucial role in designing and implementing data-driven research initiatives to directly improve revenue-producing products and processes at Edmunds and inspire new product development. Each R&D project features sound statistical models, carefully planned and executed experiments, creative uses of Edmunds’ vast data resources, thoughtful analysis and beautiful visualization of results. We are looking for a person that is smart, creative, ambitious and able to work and communicate well with a variety of people from varying technical backgrounds.

What You’ll Do:
• Design and implement innovative analytic approaches to test hypotheses
• Extract actionable insights by identifying patterns in structured and unstructured,
large-scale, high-dimensional data
• Build predictive and prescriptive models to optimize the Edmunds experience
• Design, execute and assess A/B tests
• Prepare visualizations of data in order to explain and persuade
• Develop recommendations to drive business performance
• Present results and key recommendations to business decision-makers throughout the
company
• Identify key areas for future research
What You Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field preferred AND
• 3-4 years’ work experience in an analytics-related position OR
• An advanced degree in a quantitative field + 1-2 years’ work experience in an
analytics-related position
• Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills; ability to work with considerable
ambiguity; ability and curiosity to learn new and complex concepts quickly
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience with R and/or Python
• Experience with organizing and cleaning data
• Experience with statistical analysis/modeling/machine learning and how to apply these
techniques to solve business problems
• Ability to take findings and make simple/beautiful/easy-to-interpret data visualizations
(Tableau experience a plus)
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
