 ABOUT DSC:

We’re on a mission to build a better bathroom. We started with razors way back in 2011, and now millions and millions of Members later, we’ve expanded into shave products, skin care, hair styling, with more to come. We’re always growing and reinventing, and we rely on killer talent to help us achieve our goal of owning the bathroom. If you’re a team-playing innovator, you’ll fit right in. A sense of humor helps, too.

We are looking for a QA Engineer with experience in “grey box testing,” which is to say the applicant is familiar with debugging various systems/programs with the benefit of knowledge of that system’s internal workings and the interactions of its subsystems. We would ideally prefer someone with some previous experience with multiple diagnostic tools (such as reviewing application logs through Sumologic, Exception tracking via Rollbar/Sentry, Charles Proxy, browser developer tools, etc), but training on the tools we use will be part of any onboarding. Candidate would ideally already be familiar with basic SQL. Other requirements are the ability to work independently and at least a basic understanding of web app / mobile app architecture.

The responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Validation of new feature specs and the coverage of edge-cases.

  • Identification of said edge-cases and estimation of areas of risk.

  • Exploratory testing across production and staging environments with the aim of discovering unanticipated bugs and/or edge-cases.

  • Determining severity of new/existing bugs and priority of testing responsibilities (which will require collaboration with various stakeholders, engineers, and product managers).

  • Gradual mastery of the interconnectedness of DSC’s engineering systems and being able to use this knowledge to provide early risk assessment and edge-case identification to project managers and relevant engineers

All that said, the two most important requirements are excellent communication skills and the ability to think critically and independently. If you satisfy those, we can train you on the rest.
