Role summary: 
 
As a QA Engineer at DataScience, you’ll work closely with our software engineers, product managers, and systems team to ensure the high-quality delivery of our data products. You will ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved. You’ll review and revise our test and release practices and act as an automated test advocate throughout the organization.

Job requirements:
  • Review product specifications and technical design documents
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Establish structured test plans for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open source tools
  • Identify, record, thoroughly document, and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Required experience:
  • Experience in software development
  • Experience in software quality assurance
  • Experience with testing data-heavy software products and applications
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience writing test plans and test cases for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases in functional programming languages
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (Selenium/Junit)
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process in Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience writing performance and/or security testing is a plus
