As Product Manager for Defy Media, you will be expected to provide leadership to drive business growth, product strategy, innovation, and execution. In this highly visible role, the ideal candidate has a passion for building great user experiences for desktop and mobile web, has the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, and enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams with internal and external engineering resources. You must possess a drive to make big-picture visions a reality!

What you will be doing 

  • Helping lead product strategy, innovation, and execution for Defy’s properties and services. Includes defining requirements and documenting product roadmaps, user flows, user stories, and creating wireframes. 
  • Communicating with all areas of the company including engineers, QA, design teams, editorial, SEO, marketing, product managers and others. 
  • Driving solutions across a set of development teams through requirements.
  • Driving user-centric analysis of feature design: Establishing KPI’s, assessing performance and identifing improvement opportunities. 
  • Developing both internal and external product-education strategies.
  • Providing user and competitive input to address end-user needs/concerns. 
  • Facilitate the scrum process.

 

Requirements 

  • 4+ years experience in product management of consumer-facing web properties. (Entertainment properties a plus.)
  • Proven track record of driving website-traffic growth.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can make decisions with imperfect information, comfortable in an entrepreneurial setting with shifting priorities. Not afraid of taking ownership.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience writing specification, creating wireframes, design and natural feel for UX.
  • Strong analytical skills regarding business and technical issues. 
  • Understand fundamentals of web development, SDLC, agile development.
  • Excellent Project Management skills. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Computer Science or Engineering degree is a strong plus.
