The Honest Company is looking for a Product Development Manager for our Home Care division to oversee our cleaning products, hand soaps, and laundry detergent lines. As a Product Development Manager in the R&D department, you’ll be the main point of communication for the category to the rest of the organization. You will be responsible for partnering with our Marketing team to cultivate, develop, and renovate our Home Care products to ensure that they meet the strategic vision of the category.

What you’ll do:

• Carry out product development plans and work on formulation clarity and implementation
• Work in partnership with Marketing, Packaging, Project Management, and Claims & Clinicals teams to lead projects from concept to launch
• Partner with Sourcing to manage relationships with manufacturers, including opportunities for product improvement and supply chain structure
• Ensure on-time delivery of products, line extension, and packaging projects against company calendars
• Develop strategies and implement plans to improve projects, products, packaging, programs, and streamline functions
• Analyze category, ingredient trends, and dynamics leading to key conclusions, implications and recommended action plans
• Attend trade shows and conferences. Responsibilities at the shows will include manufacturer and raw material supplier meetings, ingredient trends reporting, competitive review, on-going education, and sourcing of new manufacturers and raw material suppliers

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related scientific field
• 3+ years experience in product development or formulating in CPG home care or personal care
• Demonstrated leadership and technical expertise in product development, preferably in a CPG or retail company
• Experience applying new product stage gate processes and product improvement processes against high quality standards
• Experience managing budgets and financial metrics
• Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed
