Our mission is to make data accessible to anyone who wants to build a better app, provide a better search result, or make smarter software. We work closely with companies ranging from smaller startups and agencies to larger companies such as Amazon, Snapchat, Facebook, Adobe, DoubleClick, and The Trade Desk.

The Product Design Intern, would support the Product Design team in developing and shaping the direction of new and current products. The intern will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (Product Managers, Product Marketing, Designers, UX Researchers and Engineers).

  • Identify and clarify professional direction as it relates to your academic studies 
  • Develop self-understanding, self-discipline, maturity, professionalism, and confidence
  • Fully understand the Design Process in a real world setting
    • Be able to work with multiple stakeholders and cross-collaborate 
    • Improve design skills with One-on-One coaching

Responsibilities:

  • You will take ownership of a feature, from initial ideation to coming up with a solid design solution
  • Knowledge of the Design Process (discover, ideate, prototype, test and build )
  • Have the ability to think holistically about complex systems and empathize with customers, to create a compelling and effective user experience
  • Build prototypes and test with the guidance of a Senior Researcher
  • A strong desire to innovate and create work that pushes the boundaries of data visualization and product design
  • Participate in key internal design meetings - including weekly status updates, brainstorm sessions and design reviews
  • Understand how to work iteratively and cross functionally towards your vision and be able to deliver high-quality design solutions

Requirements:

  • Portfolio is a must
  • Knowledge of the Design Process 
  • Be able to be open to feedback
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Can think through complex problems
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Familiar with Sketch and/or Figma 
  • A real passion for continuous self-improvement and gaining of knowledge
  • Ability to live in Los Angeles during your internship
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, product design, interaction design, HCI or a related field
