Summary:

Procore Technologies is looking for an energetic, team-oriented individual with experience and skills in news reporting and/or journalism.

The News Journalist will be responsible for covering all construction related news, and publishing it on Procore’s multimedia site, The Jobsite. Tasks require attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Initiate and create news content for daily stories and breaking news on Jobsite with a heavy focus on client wins, enterprise coverage, groundbreaking projects, cutting-edge technology, and general construction news
• Research, report, write, produce, edit, and publish original news stories, including appropriate video, graphics, and audio packages
• Establish a strong network of relationships, sources, and contacts within the community in order to develop story leads and ongoing relationships
• Cover national news with urgency and accuracy with the goal of always being first to report important developing news on our digital platforms.
• Provide thoughtful analysis of complex issues
• Create stories that people will want to share, like, and talk about on social media and other digital platforms
• Assist in content management and maintenance of Jobsite on a daily basis
• Work to build organic traffic via internal linking, tagging, and optimizing keywords
• Maintain a consistent voice (and look) throughout Jobsite and ensure brand standards are followed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Bachelor's degree in English or journalism
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to write accurately and detailed copy in AP style
• Must be able to work well on deadline
