Position Summary

The Director Growth Marketing will be joining the Awe team at an exciting time of extreme growth. This brand new role in the organization will require a creative, performance-oriented leader who can build strategy and vision while also executing a fast-paced growth program. This role will join an existing Director of Retention Marketing and Director of Social/Organic marketing.

As the Director of Acquisition Marketing, you’ll be responsible for all paid digital channels including Paid Social, SEM, SEO, DSP, Native Ads and Affiliate Marketing. Leading external agencies and contractors as well as internal resources, you will own paid acquisition performance and strategic initiatives on all current and potential channels. You should also be an enthusiast for e-commerce/marketing trends and provide forward-thinking ideas to maintain strong growth in new and existing channels. You will be responsible for driving the customer-first strategy, execution, and expansion of paid acquisition.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of performance marketing, execution of brand, messaging, and conversion optimization strategies throughout the funnel, and expertise in building, leading, and developing a diverse team. The opportunity is best suited for a data-driven leader who is comfortable owning and operating across multiple channels.

This role will report to the VP of Marketing and will be onsite in our Culver City office, with the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage acquisition campaigns, leading the end-to-end process from concept to activation, measurement and optimization, ensuring optimized delivery and execution;
  • Lead digital acquisition program management for all paid campaigns, channel optimization, testing strategies, critical timelines and prioritizing dedication of key resources;
  • Test and launch new and expanded acquisition opportunities to market via innovation, optimization efforts, and partnership with best in class vendors/partners;
  • Drive channel acquisitions growth through understanding the competitive landscape, optimizing existing channel performance, and identifying new messaging, targeting, and capability opportunities;
  • Collaborate with business partners to identify efficiencies and improve effectiveness in our acquisition channels through innovations in strategy, targeting, delivery, process, and new capabilities;
  • Lead and manage multiple agency relationships across affiliate, paid social and SEM/display;
  • Design performance reports and dashboards to influence strategy and demand planning, increase conversion metrics and optimize campaign performance;
  • Collaborate with the creative team to inform them of campaign performance and strategize on creative development with customer-centric direction;
  • Partner and collaborate with Media Partner reps (Facebook / Google / TikTok) to mitigate/resolve issues, identify new tests for implementation, beta opportunities and full utilization of all the capabilities of the platform;
  • Drive innovation by influencing teams across the organization to push the limits of Digital strategy;
  • Report to executives and key stakeholders on high level wins, challenges, and future plans strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related acquisition marketing experience, with an in-depth understanding of direct response marketing with DTC brands;
  • Deep knowledge of Paid Social platform algorithms, audience segments, bidding strategies, dynamic retargeting, pixels, scaling techniques, etc;
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels; exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are a must;
  • Data-driven with a consumer-first focus. You have a strong track record of using analytics to provide strategic recommendations and drive growth for direct-to-consumer products;
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations;
  • Extensive experience with A/B testing, and sophisticated measurement techniques and attribution models;
  • Innovative experience integrating hyper-efficient acquisition campaigns with sophisticated brand messaging and audience strategies;
  • Rigorous creative testing methodology and ability to effectively partner with in-house creative team, external tools/partners in order to leverage creative to improve channel performance;
  • An enthusiasm for helping to shape positive and inclusive team culture, organizational processes, and career development at scale;
  • Strong communicator, able to work directly with numerous teams, comfortable presenting to senior leadership, prior experience managing and mentoring teams;
  • Leadership and experience managing team members, consultants, agencies (specifically paid acquisition agencies) and interns;
  • Experience with and love of fashion and fashion brands a plus.
