Right now we are looking for a hands on Lead Site Reliability Engineer with with a deep background in programming, systems, and networking that wants to build our new new Site Reliability team.

How does this role contribute to the cause?

Let’s start with 99.99999% uptime. This role will be key to the overall site/platform development, system operations, resiliency testing, security hardening, and performance engineering. Staying bulletproof as we scale is an imperative that will be owned by this role. Can you build world-class?

Who will be successful in this role?

An engineer with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science with a solid grounding in computer science fundamentals is what was written on the original position description. But experienced non-degreed engineers are also welcome. You should be comfortable with taking on new engineering challenges, defining potential solutions, and implementing designs in a team environment. A self-starter with the ability to plan, organize and establish priorities to meet goals and achieve results.

Some of our wish list items include experience building an action based alert system, a master of chaos testing (and disaster recovery), capacity planning and management, strong but not forceful technical leadership (have to play nice), and deep knowledge and production experience in designing, deploying and administering complex Amazon AWS cloud applications.
