Hi!  We're looking for a razor-sharp Lead Backend Engineer with a healthy addiction to writing well designed and sturdy code, a desire to create smart and efficient data processing procedures, and lead junior and mid-level engineers down the path to success. Our stack includes (but is certainly not limited to) the following technologies: Python, Django, Bootstrap, jQuery and PostgreSQL. If you’re a generalist and like to get your hands dirty in all layers of the stack, we’re definitely interested in you.

What You'll Do:

• Lead people. Seriously.
• Author quality, tested and maintainable code
• Tackle a wide variety of challenging problems
• Contribute as a team player in a flat-structured, highly collaborative environment

What You Need:

• BS or higher degree in Computer Science, or other scientific field
• Extensive experience with the Python language
• Experience with PostGreSQL or similar relational databases
• Familiarity with Linux as a development and deployment environment.
• Experience with one or more Python testing frameworks
• Knowledge of data pipelining and analysis tools (Airflow, Luigi, etc.)
• Working knowledge, or familiarity with modern web-development backend tools, such as ElasticSearch, Redis, Celery

Good to Have:

• Experience with the Django web framework, or similar ORM like SQLAlchemy
• Experience with data visualization, ideally using Python libraries
• Experience interacting with and creating APIs
