Role summary: 
 
As a Full Stack Web Engineer on the Data Platform team, you’ll work closely with our data engineers and designers to deliver cutting-edge data tools for both our customers and our internal teams. You’ll build the tools that our teams use every day and take pride in seeing our customers use them as well. You’ll be surrounded by Javascript: writing APIs using Node.js on the backend, and React/Redux on the front-end. You’ll interface with big data technologies like Hadoop, S3, and Spark.

Job requirements:
  • Work across the stack to build technical data products and tools for internal and external users
  • Build interfaces to expose backend services developed in collaboration with our data platform engineers
  • Collaborate with our designers and product managers to iterate on new product ideas
  • Develop data visualizations to help us understand and explore our customers’ data
  • Work across teams to come up with and implement code standards and best practices that will contribute to the overall quality of our codebase
Required experience:
  • Experience building a modern web application that is currently in production
  • A desire to work with designers to create beautiful, engaging user interfaces
  • Preference for coding in Javascript across the stack, with experience dabbling in one other programming language
  • High comfort level with web services such as REST APIs, RPC, etc
  • Familiarity with at least one relational and one NoSQL database
  • Experience with modern Javascript frameworks like React, Redux, Angular, etc
  • The passion to advocate for and implement automated tests, even for front-end code
  • A hunger for learning new technologies, and sharing your discoveries with the rest of the team
  • The ability to keep things simple
  • Exposure to big data technologies like Spark and Hadoop
