What You’re Applying For:
The Analytics Research and Development team at Edmunds.com is seeking an Economic Analyst who will play an important role in designing and implementing in-depth studies of the impact of economic trends on the automotive marketplace to help inform Edmunds’ strategy.
We are looking for a person that is smart, creative, ambitious and able to work and communicate well with a variety of people from varying technical backgrounds. We especially want someone who is excited about engaging in data-driven research and using this research to strategically optimize Edmunds’ product offerings for our customers and clients.
What You’ll Do:
Collaborate with Edmunds’ Chief Economist to design and execute research projects that analyze economic and political trends to predict their impact on the automotive industry and on Edmunds’ business
Prepare visualizations of data and summaries of results
Help create commentaries, blog posts, white papers and presentations to communicate research results
Monitor macroeconomic data and current events and identify trends of interest to Edmunds and the auto industry
Identify key areas for future research
What You Need:
Master’s or PhD candidate in Economics preferred
Strong programming and statistical analysis/modeling skills
Ability to take findings and make simple/beautiful/easy-to-interpret data visualizations
Excellent presentation and communication skills
