The Product Marketing Director must have a proven track record in leading successful teams with a strong background in digital product marketing. They must have a transformational attitude and a passion for strategy and storytelling. They will work closely with the senior product team to optimize current products and create a strategic roadmap for future development of the next generation of class leading, cutting edge tools and services to transform the car buying and selling process.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and influence: You will lead a team to develop product-marketing strategies to influence all aspects of Edmunds digital tools throughout product development to launches and subsequent lifecycle. The result will be cutting edge, easy-to-use, enjoyable and personalized experiences across all platforms (apps, mobile web, and desktop web).
- Target oriented: Focus must be on creating simple and engaging experiences, which measurably increase customer engagement, customer satisfaction, lead and revenue generation. We are looking for a product marketing director who owns the challenge and is not afraid to go for big goals.
- Strategic Vision: Develop go to market strategies across all channels with effective product messaging & positioning to successfully communicate the product value proposition to key targets.
- Passion for marketing: Oversee development of all content related to supporting and selling products or services – e.g. product demos, whitepapers, presentations, brochures, web site content/messaging, social content, microsites, FAQ’s, active use content, in-app marketing, etc.
- Guardian of the Edmunds brand: Edmunds has been around for 50 years and has a very strong brand. You will also ensure that Edmunds brand values and strategies are fully integrated and aligned in all of our products.
- Advocate for the customer: You will define a transformational customer experience encompassing all customer facing touch points to further build the brand, drive active use, and increase customer satisfaction and loyalty to our products and brand.
- Understand our constituents: Immerse yourself in the needs of our B2B partners to ensure that we are sensitive to their business goals and that our product strategies are clearly adding value.
- Drive Engagement: Drive strategies to build a strong relationship with customers in our key segments to drive adoption of key products/technologies, support proliferation of our products and services and drive retention and referral business.
- Trusted collaborator: Build strong relationships with execs, product, tier 1 and tier 3 sales, business development and business analytics to improve processes, and influence in positive ways. You are a strong networker and comfortable working in cross-functional environments.
What You Need:
- Significant product marketing experience at a company whose core business is Internet-based.
- 3+ years at a Director-level or equivalent and natural team leadership skills with a proven track record.
- Great knowledge of the digital shopping tools available in both automotive and other comparable customer service industries.
- Excellent strategic skillset with proven examples of strategic roadmap development and implementation.
- Clear understanding of revenue models for digital products.
- An ability to positively influence UX and digital product development through a brand and product marketing lens.
- Excellent project management and networking/communication skills.
- A strategic, transformational mindset and attitude.
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Ability to work in a fast paced and fast changing environment
