The Director of Marketing Strategy will be creative, passionate, smart, and strategic, and the person people look to for strategic collaborations. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing all of the company’s marketing strategies - including campaigns, events, and digital marketing. You will identify the marketing KPI's based on the company's overall business goals and craft a strategy and marketing plan accordingly. You will also be responsible for researching the target audience and potential channels, creating the overall messaging and positioning, and developing a plan of execution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own strategy and vision for the marketing function at Science 37, identifying opportunities and gaps in order to help build a high-performing team
  • Develop effective marketing strategies and support business objectives across Business Development & Sales, Product, and Brand
  • Effective and collaborative in working cross-departmentally to ensure brand identity and messaging remains consistent
  • Oversee creative and development of marketing assets and collateral, including videos, digital and print, art/imagery, presentations, and event displays
  • Contributes to marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives
  • Provides short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data
  • Analyze historical and new CRM and technical data to refine market approach
  • Liaison with executives regarding trade event involvement and effective campaigns
  • Stay up to date on innovative technologies and approaches, while sharing insight with internal stakeholders
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Develops marketing staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Define functional goals for marketing, and organizational and measurement processes to drive accountability
  • Maintains marketing staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Conducts performance reviews, calibration sessions and feedback discussions for direct reports. Performs competency assessments across his/her team, and implements and monitors development plans with direct
  • Mentors and/or assists in coaching and training departmental team
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing both traditional and digital with at least 5 within a senior marketing position
  • Proven track record of successful, high visibility campaigns, events, and digital marketing
  • Strong background in marketing, communications, social media strategic planning and market analysis
  • Strong knowledge of the current marketplace and cutting-edge technologies

Capabilities

  • Up to 20% travel, as needed, for project team meetings, client presentations and other professional meetings/conferences as needed
