Director, Engineering

What you’ll do:

 

• Lead a team of developers supporting company’s overall mission and strategy
• Provide guidance for team’s development activities
• Contribute to the technical architecture strategy and emerging software development lifecycle practices
• Evangelize agile approach to software development
• Evaluate current staffing needs and effectively recruit to build out team as needed
• Work team to ensure adherence to company’s guiding principles for software development
• Work with stakeholders to design solutions
• Develop and implement process improvements for engineering team

 

Qualifications:

 

• 5+ years experience managing technical teams, including hiring and mentoring developers
• 10+ years of development experience
• Experience building a team of talented developers
• Experience with mentoring developers within an organization
• Experience with API’s and their use within the enterprise
• Experience with resource allocation, including local, remote, and non-employee resources
• Ability to manage geographically distributed development teams
• Ability to facilitate technical solutions and give guidance to technical leads
• Strong and effective communicator and consensus builder across teams
• Strong comprehension of Software Development Life Cycle and Configuration Management including Agile/Scrum
• Experience with Microsoft platforms or Linux platforms
• Experience with mobile development
• Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture
• Knowledge of modern web technologies such as angular.js, ember.js, etc.
• BS or BA; technical degree in computer science or equivalent experience
