The DevOps manager will be in charge of managing the DevOps team at Spokeo. This role requires a strong people manager who will have oversight of the entire infrastructure for running the Spokeo website, as well as providing support for any projects being worked on.
DevOps is responsible for all the production environments as well as test and internal environments, as well as facilities and office operations. The DevOps manager is responsible for hiring sysadmins and effectively coordinating and managing work schedules for all of his/her staff members.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of DevOps system administration experience.
- Significant experience with AWS and other cloud services.
- Strong people management experience: having managed at least 5-10 individuals.
- Articulate: eloquent in working with many personalities and in cross functional teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with *NIX system administration, Java, Ruby, Perl, Python.
- Strong technical and business vision.
- Experience in an internet customer-facing environment.
- Ability to work cross organizational boundaries with people of different perspectives and experiences.
- Ability to recognize technical needs and recommend suitable technologies.
- Willingness to tackle any challenge, even if not directly relevant to core competencies.
