The RoleThe Technology Operations team at Signal Sciences is guided by three principles: security, simplicity and automation. We work collaboratively and support each other, but all engineers in Technology Operations are expected to carry a project from start to completion. We work independently and find and implement solutions to described business problems.
- You have managed 100+ systems. You don't ssh to make changes... ever.
- You have experience with:
- AWS
- System Configuration Management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack)
- Terraform
- Docker
- Jenkins
- ELK stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana)
- You value security in your design and implementation of projects. Strong security experience is a plus.
- You have managed data systems and have experience with some of the following: Cassandra, Kafka, MongoDB or ElasticSearch.
- You value monitoring, can't live without it, and nothing you build goes unmonitored.
- You are a well-rounded generalist who can work independently.
- You are excited about learning.
- You have empathy for developers and other internal customers, and fit with our culture.
- You use the right tool for the job (i.e., no technology "Fan Boys" allowed).
- This position is part of the Technology Operations team
- It is an individual contributor position (no people management)
- Located in Los Angeles, CA
- Involves sharing in an after-hours, on-call rotation
