You Will:
- Work with engineering teams to prepare the infrastructure to support new features.
- Suggest, design and implement changes to the infrastructure to allow for faster and more efficient processing.
- Monitor the production infrastructure and respond quickly to production issues.
- Evolve and maintain the Tradesy deployment system (we release code many times a day).
- Design, monitor and analyze system metrics to proactively prevent system issues.
You Have:
- An insatiable curiosity to understand the latest deployment and scaling techniques.
- A high-level or ownership of your work combined with a pragmatic approach that enables you to move quickly without compromising your quality standards.
- Expertise working at the Linux command line and writing shell scripts.
- Experience working with Apache, Vagrant, Docker, Ansible, and Jenkins (or similar software). Experience supporting a large scale website on AWS.
- A craftsman’s like approach to learning the tools of your trade.
- 2+ years of professional experience in a DevOps capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working with MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ (or similar systems) at scale.
Bonus Points:
- Good understanding of the PHP language and some experience with one other language. Ecommerce or retail experience.
- Experience with RedShift.
- Experience supporting data pipelines at scale.
- Experience supporting data analysis using packages like Apache Spark.
- Experience designing and supporting office networking configurations.
