As a Data Science Intern at Honest, you’ll have the opportunity to drive business decisions across the organization by providing impactful insights in order to enhance customer experience and retention efforts online. You’ll partner with teams across the entire organization to add intelligence to their decision making processes.

The Honest Internship Program takes place at our headquarters in Playa Vista. The program will run for 10 weeks from the beginning of June to mid-August, and is a paid, full-time, 40 hours/week program. Interns must be available for the full duration of the internship.

What you’ll do:

• Support ad targeting optimization: build a predictive modeling platform that will allow our acquisition team to determine ad performance of a given creative and targeting combination before placing an ad
• Support wholesale forecast optimization: work with the demand and supply planning teams to implement machine learning models into supply forecasting
• Employ reliable algorithms, machine learning models, and statistical analysis in order to improve personalization, targeting, search, and other user related efforts
• Partner with teams such as Marketing, Digital, R&D, Sales, Operations, and Finance on their decision making processes
• Compile and analyze data and present findings to department leaders
• Utilize software and technology tools such as Python, Java, Spark, Redshift, Jira, Github, Domo

What you’ll need:

• Must be currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, an MBA or other master’s program
• Experience with machine learning algorithms
• Programming experience in at least one language (Python, Java, Scala)
• Ability to work cross-functionally with other Honest teams
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Bonus points for:

• Exposure to large-scale data analysis in Spark
• Experience with SQL
