Internship Timeline: 8-12 weeks

ZEFR is growing! We are hiring a new Data Science Intern to be involved in building and optimizing large-scale systems to acquire, process, store, and illuminate multi-terabytes of YouTube and other social media data. This role is an important part of the rapidly scaling demands of being the leader in VideoID technology for content owners and brands.

Here's what you'll do:

Develop a proof-of-concept in one of the following areas:

• Image classification, caption generation, action detection, or video analysis using deep learning
• Interpretable generative models (e.g. Probabilistic Graphical Model, VAE, GAN) for NLP classification tasks
• Explaining predictions of machine learning models using visualization and statistical techniques such as Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME)

Here's what we're looking for:

• PhD or MS candidate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields with an interest in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence
• Publications, significant projects, or open-source contribution in computer vision, deep learning, generative models, or related areas
• Experience with writing quality code. Here at ZEFR we use Python and Scala but welcome Matlab, Julia, and Lua

Nice to have:

• Experience with a deep learning library such as TensorFlow, keras, Caffe, or Theano
• Experience with training models on GPUs or in a distributed environment
• AWS Cloud computing experience
• Experience with SQL, Spark, Hadoop
• Experience with Scala, Java, or C++
