Data Engineering Lead

             

 

Data Engineering Lead is responsible for leading projects with his technical expertise in database design, development, implementation and analysis for company’s transactional and data warehouse systems. The candidate will be responsible to ensure the design and implementation adheres to company’s technical strategies, architectural framework, standards and best practices.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Leads design, development and implementation of major database systems both transactional and dimensional.
  • Identify data needs, drive methods and best practices for data prep, data quality and governance. 
  • Design and Develop ETL and Database solutions and perform code reviews.
  • Defines Database Development and Data Integration standards, guidelines and best practices.
  • Multi-task and manage multiple project/task assignments simultaneously and clearly document technical specifications.
  • Work with cross functional teams and participate in Agile Scrum based development life cycle.
  • Act as a liaison with various technical service teams.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Informatica Powercenter and SSIS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a lead role.
  • Minimum 6 years of data architecture, design, and development experience.
  • Experience working with both OLTP and OLAP databases.
  • Subject matter expert in ETL and Data Integration technologies.
  • Expertise in data modelling using ER/Studio and Microsoft Visio.
  • Understanding of relational database structures specifically SQL Server, theories, principles and best practices.
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization in a large enterprise that consists of high-volume, 24/7 transactional and reporting systems.
  • Experience in integrating Salesforce and IBM FileNet with relational databases.
  • Exposure to MPP Databases like Netezza a plus.
  • Exposure to NoSQL, HDFS based data repositories or other Big Data Platforms.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, detail and quality oriented and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a strong team player.
