About the Opportunity:
The Data Engineer will partner with existing BI / Engineering teams to develop a enterprise data warehouse solution utilizing the AWS eco-system and services. This is green field opportunity for Data engineer to lead this strategic initiative encompassing requirements/definition, partner on architecture with tech leads and then build the solution. About Your Responsibilities:

- Manage the existing QA Hadoop cluster with HDFS, YARN, Hue, Hive.
- Develop a data model for AWS Redshift.
- Automate data ingestion and processing (ETL – Extract, Transform and Load) from MySQL to AWS Redshift.
- Automate backfilling of data from relational and other NoSQL stores
- Automate code deployment using Chef/Puppet/Docker/AWS tools and ensure monitoring, profiling, and debugging of cloud infrastructure is a plus.
- Maintain and add features for Reachlocal’s data collection / Reporting APIs and help build a self-serving data platform.
- Build Realtime API services for driving data-driven use cases requiring sub-second latency.

- Bachelor's degree required (computer science or related field)
- 3+ years experience with MySQL/RDMS.
- Exposure to Hadoop environment , building applications end-to-end solutions, ideal.
- Strong desire in learning about and working with new data management tools, in particular AWS Redshift.
- Experience with networking and infrastructure automation a plus (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Bash, Docker)
- Experience with distributed systems and MapReduce architectures a plus
- Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of tasks, process, and products.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work well with rapid deployment cycles and tight deadlines.
- Minimum Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent work experience
