Data Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced and self-motivated Data Engineer to work in our Los Angeles Headquarters. The ideal candidate will be able to self-manage tasks and be proactive in working with other teams to accomplish shared goals. The Data Engineer will report directly to the Director of Engineering – MIDAS.

What You’ll Do:

• Create and maintain processes related to data from disparate systems for the purpose of storing/reporting in the Data Warehouse
• Design and develop services and ETL tasks using Python and a combination of other languages like R and SQL to implement pre-defined business rules and metrics, ensuring scalability and data quality in Data Warehouse processes
• Design and implement appropriate data strategy to support high-end, mission critical online analysis and machine learning
• Provide production support on a rotational basis

Who You Are:

• You have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• You are able to learn and adapt to continually evolving technologies in the data ecosystem
• You have experience defining and building ETL jobs and defining data pipelines and processes
• You have experience developing with Python/Java
• You have an understanding or working knowledge of Hadoop related technologies
• You have hands on experience working with configuring and optimizing Relational Databases (RDBMS) like Redshift, Postgres, MySql and SSMS for performance/scalability
• You have experience with any leading ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend and Informatica
• You have a sound understanding of BI/DWH best practices, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse and reporting techniques
• You have experience implementing data strategies such as Data lake, Data mart and multidimensional OLAP cubes
