The Woo is a full-service ideas agency
located in Culver City, CA. We are currently seeking an Associate Creative
Director/Copywriter to help lead creative
initiatives and produce award-winning work. As an Associate Creative
Director/Copywriter at The Woo, you are responsible for managing the overall
copywriting efforts for a specific client(s). You’ll work closely with your
Creative Director to ensure that the team’s creative efforts are as efficient
and impactful as possible.
Associate Creative Director / Copywriter duties include:
- Establish and maintain a vibrant creative culture with passion and
enthusiasm for all members of the creative team to follow and work by.
- Multitask numerous creative projects at various stages of
development without getting overwhelmed.
- On a day-to-day basis: originate creative ideas, manage project
time lines, adhere to creative briefs, ensure consistency of work, keep track
of work flow, oversee idea development.
- Become a mentor to creative employees by encouraging developmental
opportunities and responding to questions/concerns.
- Provide supervision and oversight to freelance staff by determining
appropriate project assignment based on individual skill sets.
- Orient new employees to agency culture and expectations.
- Continually manage up to business owners and upper management on
progress of assignments.
- Be solutions oriented, bring a sense of entrepreneurial spirit on
an everyday basis and be open minded to new opportunities and challenges.
- Ensure smooth internal workflow by utilizing effective delegation,
the assignment/reassignment of appropriate resources to jobs, providing
direction and counsel as needed.
- High level
concepting and the ability to work with an art director.
- Short format and
long format copy a must.
- Maintain the highest
standards for all copy and ensure it adheres to the brand’s voice.
- Ability to take
large amounts of product information and distill it to clear, concise, and
creative messaging.
- Track all revisions
and client changes.
- Work closely with
designers and production artists in developing communications.
- Excellent grammar
and proofreading abilities
- Desire to take
ownership of work and make revisions quickly.
Associate Creative Director / Copywriter qualifications include:
- 7+ years of industry/agency experience
- Strong design and copywriting portfolio
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with
careful attention to detail is a must.
- A solid understanding of online and offline production.
- Passion for creative and eagerness to mentor and elevate other
creative people.
- Self-motivated, organized, and accountable.
- Experience leading a team of designers/writers, production
specialists and designers.
- Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to
articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members and clients.
- Must be able to manage the creative team from concept to completion
of projects with strong leadership.
- Knowledge of each step of an ad campaign’s process to give creative
direction, work on schedule and meet client’s expectations.
- Must be willing to work long hours.
- Travel required.
