Bring your barber to you, Hairdoo launches in LA

If you can get a ride, a sandwich, or even a puppy on-demand, why not also get something a little more practical?

Hollywood-based Hairdoo, an on-demand hair cut provider, officially launched yesterday with the intention of simplifying men's haircut scheduling.

Traveling stylists can be viewed in real time, allowing the user to select the nearest option or schedule an appointment with their personal favorite. The haircuts can take place at home, in the office, or even in public if you’re feeling weird.

"With Hairdoo, the ability to get a haircut more conveniently will open up the market to guys wanting to get haircuts more frequently,” said CEO and founder Leonardo Colon in a statement. “We vet all of our barbers and hairstylists making sure that you receive a high quality professional in your home."

The app allows the user to save a photo of their previous haircuts to show the stylist before they even arrive. The stylist can also save photos of their previous work to give the user plenty of options to choose from.

A haircut is a flat $45 rate, $35 of which goes straight to the barber. Tipping is confidential and the app features a five-star rating system.

Hairdoo currently has 100 barbers and will be expanding to San Francisco and New York within the coming months.

“Our goal is 10 cities by the end of 2015,” said Colon. “Then the next step will be London and Europe.”
