General Assembly, a global educational institution offering instruction in technology, business and design, announced it is now the first school of its kind to receive official licensure from the State of California, marking a new era in education innovation. Approval to operate was granted by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE), a unit of the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

Washos releases version 1.3 of mobile app

Scopely and Hasbro partnership results in mobile version of Yahtzee

Los Angeles-based Scopely, a free-to-play publisher, announced a partnership with Hasbro, resulting in Yahtzee With Buddies, a mobile version of the dice game. It is immediately available on iOS and Android tablets, and it will also be among the first games on the Apple Watch. Steve Reneker to leave Mayor’s Office in search for new tech GM

TrueCar starts charitable #DogsInCars campaign

Santa Monica-based TrueCar, a site that provides car purchasing data, launched on a charitable campaign called #DogsInCars. For every picture a person posts on Instagram from themselves and their dog with the hashtags #DogsInCars and #Donate to @TrueCar, the company will donate $1 to the Best Friends Animal Society. Snapchat’s audience consists largely of millennials

A recently published comScore report revealed that millennials account for 71 percent of Snapchat’s adult audience. The report also suggested that MySpace is making a bit of a comeback after seeing about 40 million visitors in 2014 — a growth rate of 469 percent.
