Team Overview

Finance & Strategy (F&S) is BlackRock’s global finance partner, delivering timely, accurate, and insight‑driven financial analysis to support effective decision‑making across the firm. The team provides strategic thought leadership and financial discipline to inform resource allocation and enable sustainable business growth. Within F&S, Corporate Strategy & Development (CS&D) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) together form Strategic Finance, partnering closely with senior leadership to shape BlackRock’s long‑term direction and financial performance.

The Fund Board Reporting & Analytics team sits within Strategic Finance and supports U.S. and U.K. fund boards in fulfilling their governance and regulatory responsibilities. The role is focused on delivering high‑quality Fund Board reporting and analysis, including requirements under Section 15(c) of the Investment Company Act and the U.K. Assessment of Value (AoV) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaboration & Communication

  • Play a key role in supporting the annual Fund Board requirements, from planning to execution, for approximately 1,000 registered funds

  • Focus on index ETF products and serve as a point person coordinating with the Fund Board Governance team on iShares fund board deliverables, with opportunities for expanded responsibility over time

  • Partner across Finance and Product teams to translate complex financial requirements into clear, decision‑ready material; communicate technical analyses effectively through discussions

Analytics & Modeling

  • Build and maintain robust financial models to support fund-board reporting and analysis, translating quantitative outputs into clear, actionable narratives for senior stakeholders

  • Draft and contribute to high‑quality Fund Board materials, including profitability and economies of scale analyses, grounded in clear insights

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, generating data‑driven insights and interpretation of results

Operational Effectiveness & Process Management

  • Support the allocation model process in IBM TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics, performing deep data validations and results analysis to ensure accuracy and integrity

  • Support strong governance and control frameworks through strong documentation standards and timely, accurate responses to regulatory and business inquiries

  • Collaborate with team members to continuously identify opportunities to enhance and automate processes, improving efficiency and operational resilience

Core Qualifications & Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with strong academic achievement; MBA a plus

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience across asset management finance, regulatory reporting, FP&A, audit or related disciplines, with demonstrated progression in scope and influence

  • Proven experience preparing senior‑level and/or Board‑facing materials and high‑quality financial analysis in highly regulated environments

  • Strong organizational skills, including effective prioritization, expectation management, cross‑functional coordination, and thoughtful issue escalation in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment

  • Strong work ethic and accountability owner; positive, collegial demeanor; collaborative relationship builder

Technology, Data & AI Enablement

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required to analyze data, synthesize insights, and communicate results

  • Experience with IBM TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics, or similar Enterprise Performance Management systems, to extract data and derive insights is a big plus

  • Experience supporting reporting and system enhancements, as well as adoption of new technology and AI capabilities; ability to design effective prompts and AI‑assisted workflows to generate first‑draft analyses and presentations is a plus

Financials Industry/Asset Management Acumen (preferred)

  • Strong understanding of the asset management business – particularly ETF and mutual fund products – including distribution channels, asset classes, and industry trends

  • Fluency in key industry and firm‑specific financial metrics (e.g., AUM, revenue, fees, margins), with the ability to link financial outcomes to underlying business drivers

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$130,000.00 - USD$173,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
