In this role, you will collaborate with product managers, developers, subject-matter experts, and customers to design solutions that support effective teaching and meaningful learning outcomes. You will be responsible for understanding learner needs through research, translating insights into user flows and wireframes, and delivering polished, user-centric interfaces that align with pedagogy and accessibility standards.

The ideal candidate is passionate about improving education through thoughtful design, grounded in research, and skilled at simplifying complex learning workflows. You will advocate for usability across the product lifecycle, conduct usability testing, iterate based on feedback, and ensure that each product experience is inclusive for diverse learners and educators. This role combines creativity, empathy, and problem-solving to help build impactful EdTech tools that truly support learning.

  • Perform tests on user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages and banners
  • Participate in evaluating and integrating third-party tools and infrastructure components
  • Establish and maintain a product documentation library to be used by both the business and technical teams to ensure products adhere to UX best practices
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior
  • Maintain a competitive edge against competitor products and industry trends
  • Understand product specifications and user psychology and predict what might work for both

About you

  • Demonstrable experience in UX/UI design, responsive and mobile design, and visual design
  • Strong, hands-on experience using Figma and Canva
  • Demonstrable experience conducting user research and applying insights to design decisions
  • Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills, ideally in high-growth organizations
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality, delivery and outcomes
  • Experience leading design projects and facilitating workshops with large groups of stakeholders
  • Experience with market and competitor analysis

  • Experience with education platforms, LMS, or student data/reporting tools
  • Knowledge of the medical and nursing education markets
  • Familiarity with Monday (and Monday Dev), JIRA, Confluence or similar tools
  • Understanding of accessibility in the higher education technology space.

Our Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance for employees and their families

  • Company-paid life insurance and disability coverage
  • 401(k) with company match (100% match on first 3%, 50% match on the next 2%)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
