About Us

Twitch is the world’s biggest live streaming service, with global communities built around gaming, entertainment, music, sports, cooking, and more. It is where thousands of communities come together for whatever, every day.

We’re about community, inside and out. You’ll find coworkers who are eager to team up, collaborate, and smash (or elegantly solve) problems together. We’re on a quest to empower live communities, so if this sounds good to you, see what we’re up to on LinkedIn and Twitter,  and discover the projects we’re solving on our Blog. Be sure to explore our Interviewing Guide to learn how to ace our interview process.

About the Role

**This internship is only for undergraduate students at North American colleges/universities with Winter 2026 or Spring 2027 graduation dates**

At Twitch, we’re always looking for high-potential talent. If you’re a current student at a North American college or university interested in solutions architecture, we’d love to see you apply. See below for information on the role and a few reasons why our cohort-based internship program is one-of-a kind.

The Developer Relations team works with the third-party developer community to help them build creative experiences for creators and viewers on Twitch. As a Solutions Architect intern, you will report to the Senior Manager of Developer Relations and collaborate with other members of the team. You will employ scalable tactics that strengthen adoption and understanding of developer products, work closely with internal product teams to develop solutions, and engage directly with the external community. Your technical knowledge and publicly available solutions will contribute to the success of businesses and independent developers integrating Twitch technologies. We are looking for applicants who communicate brilliantly, understand a variety of technologies, have superb abilities at getting external groups to understand and implement our products, and can smooth over any difficulties that might occur during complex integrations. All interns will also participate in the following:

  • Project-Based Learning at Scale: Twitch operates at a massive scale, requiring us to push the boundaries of technology and experiment with techniques used by only the largest websites. As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging engineering problems in the industry, making every project a valuable learning experience.
  • Comprehensive Support Team: To ensure our interns thrive, we provide a dedicated support system, including a Manager, Mentor, and Early Careers Advisor. This team will work closely with you to guide your project from start to finish and ensure you have the resources needed to succeed.
  • Enriched Intern Community: In addition to hands-on engineering work, you will participate in leadership and interpersonal development curriculum, as well as gain valuable industry insights from Twitch leaders through fireside chats. To complement the technical aspects of the program, we offer a variety of enrichment activities, including cohort trips, weekly advisory sessions, and local community events. We also provide housing assistance to make your summer internship as rewarding and enjoyable as possible.

Want to learn more? Check out the Early Careers Page for internship and student-focused content.

You Will:
  • Contribute to the awareness and adoption of third-party developer products through scalable content.
  • Create technical materials, such as code samples or tutorials, to lower barriers of entry and provide solutions for common use cases.
  • Collaborate with Twitch business development managers, product managers, and engineers to design solutions that solve important challenges.
  • Gather feedback and provide perspective on behalf of the developer community to influence project direction and prioritize developer needs.
You Have:
  • BA/BS Graduation Year: December 2026 & 2027. No Masters/PhD
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent major/practical experience
  • Experience with RESTful APIs or similar third-party developer services
Bonus Points
  • Experience writing code in Twitch’s primary programming languages (Go, JavaScript)
  • Experience authoring technical materials (e.g. guides or documentation)
  • Experience working with third-party developers and products
  • Contributions to open sourced software
Perks
  • Housing stipend provided
  • Relocation assistance to and from San Francisco, CA

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
