Work & Co brings design and technology together to create and ship digital experiences that transform companies.
The Role

Work & Co, part of Accenture Song, is a global design and technology company with offices in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. We're known for uniting the industry’s best hands-on strategy, product and technical talent to generate tangible impact at scale. Client partners include IKEA, Apple, PGA TOUR, Gatorade, Google, Mercedes, Givenchy, the MTA and more. As Fast Company noted, our engineering and design teams are routinely entrusted with creating digital products for companies which rarely approach outside firms. Forrester Research calls our approach “a model to follow.”

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer contractor to join our Technology team. This individual will play a critical role in architecting and developing robust Data Warehouse solutions using advanced technologies such as AWS Glue for scalable data storage and processing. They will be responsible for implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes utilizing tools to ensure high-quality data integration from various sources into our warehouse environment. Additionally, they must provide deep analytical insights through machine learning models, which will enable us to generate accurate forecasts that guide strategic decisions of our current client. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with big data frameworks, cloud services (AWS) and agile methodologies while maintaining strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do

  • Join a team of two back-end developers dedicated to enhancing our HIN product for healthcare professionals (HCPs), working closely with the existing Search team to deliver targeted improvements.
  • Extend our platform to provide accurate and relevant information across articles, direct messages, follow-ups, and content recommendations, tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals.
  • Deploy and maintain ETL processes in AWS Glue, focusing on a complex environment containing over a terabyte of data to ensure robust performance and scalability.
  • Drive improvements in semantic search, leveraging machine learning models on AWS SageMaker to adapt content to the evolving needs of HCPs.
  • Implement enhancements using Python and advanced knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts, optimizing query behavior and the HCP user experience.
  • Develop cloud-based infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, Lambda, and the AWS ecosystem, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Write comprehensive unit tests to maintain high-quality code and streamline maintenance.
  • Actively participate in client-facing sprint activities and workshops, including requirement reviews and planning, while collaborating closely with PMs, Designers, and Developers to meet project goals.

We Are Looking For

  • A skilled back-end developer with a strong foundation in ETL processes, AWS Glue, and Python programming.
  • Experience in deploying machine learning models on AWS, with a focus on advancing semantic search capabilities for healthcare professionals.
  • Proficiency in AWS infrastructure management, including Lambda, CloudFormation, AWS Glue, and other key AWS services.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive in client communication, with the ability to contribute to sprint planning and deliverables.
  • Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively, with the capability to manage a small team (0-3 individuals) as required.

The base pay for the Lead Developer Contractor role is between $90 - $100/hr. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, knowledge, skills, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
