We’re producing user-centric, technology-first vehicles to establish new paradigms in human-vehicle interaction. We’re not just seeking to change how our cars work – we’re seeking to change the way we drive. At FF, we’re creating something new, something connected, and something with a true global impact.

Your Role:

As a Technical Service Specialist, you will collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry to deliver world-class technical service for Faraday Future and FX vehicles. Your responsibilities will include diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of vehicle systems — including powertrain, electrical, chassis, and body. You will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless, user-first experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Apply hands-on diagnostic and repair skills to support complete vehicle systems, including EV platforms, with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with service, quality, and engineering teams to resolve vehicle issues quickly and effectively.
  • Provide on-site and remote support for vehicle service, including mobile service when required.
  • Read, understand, and follow written service manual procedures.
  • Review existing service procedures for accuracy and completeness; update as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicle systems, including high voltage (HV), low voltage (LV), EV powertrains, chassis, and body structures.
  • Develop new service procedures, document work instructions, and author bulletins to support technicians and the broader service network.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations of field issues, warranty claims, and customer concerns; prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Support continuous improvement of the customer experience through attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
  • Adapt to a startup environment where responsibilities may extend beyond this job description.
  • Embrace and promote FF’s mission to advance sustainable transportation and redefine the automotive landscape.
  • Primarily work onsite at the LA Service Center, with the ability to:
    - Perform mobile repairs and rescues
    - Participate in rotating on-call weekend shifts (including Saturdays and Sundays)
    - Support events that may require occasional domestic and international travel
    - Perform various vehicle-related tasks as instructed by management

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of proven hands-on experience in automotive or EV diagnosis, service, and repair.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, identify hazards common in automotive work environments, and take appropriate safety measures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to search technical documentation, ask questions, and seek clarification when necessary.
  • Proficiency in EV servicing and system diagnostics.
  • EPA 609 Certification.
  • Knowledge of proper handling and storage of automotive fluids and chemicals.
  • OEM training in safe handling of SRS components, high-voltage systems, and shop equipment (vehicle lifts, tire machines, spring compressors, jacks, etc.).
  • Expertise in diagnosing HV/LV systems, EV powertrains, and integrated vehicle systems.
  • Experience working in a luxury vehicle service environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both internal teams and customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Jira, and diagnostic software/tools.
  • Proven ability to write and document technical reports and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • AA or BS in Automotive Technology from an accredited trade school, or 7+ years equivalent work experience.
  • BS in Engineering combined with hands-on automotive work experience.
  • ASE certifications, or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with OEM OTA (Over-the-Air) diagnostics and remote support tools.
  • Familiarity with vehicle network protocols (CAN/LIN) and interface tools such as Vector, Intrepid, and EV diagnostic platforms.
  • 7+ years of OEM R&D workshop experience with deep understanding of vehicle fundamentals.
  • Advanced vehicle limit-handling driver training through OEM or professional programs.
  • Experience with show vehicles, prototype handling, and/or public event presentations.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
