Our Technical Sales Support team is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist!

How you´ll add value

The purpose of this role is to bridge technical expertise and commercial strategy by turning complex customer requirements into clear, compelling solutions that drive successful system sales. By enabling the sales team with strong technical support and solution design, you’ll help win new business, strengthen customer relationships, and accelerate growth.

What you’ll do

1. To provide technical sales support for Stores salespeople, resulting in regular order input. This includes all aspects of technical sales support, such as:

  • Requirements gathering and solution presentation: working with the sales team.

  • Engineering: capacity, throughput, facilities, etc

  • Software: User interface, computer interface, software demonstration, etc.

  • Application: workflow, sample integrity, etc.

  • Price: cost & price calculation (typically <15% of the work)

2. To support new system sales in North America, through to order placement and hand over to the operational team. Typically:

  • Working with a salesperson from sales opportunity qualification to purchase order.

  • Engaging with the customer to understand the problem to be solved; problems might range from the need to keep samples below -70°C as they are input to the store, to needing to pick 25,000 tubes in one day.

  • Working with the Azenta team to develop solutions/options (Product Management, Engineering, Software, Project Management, etc.)

  • Evaluating solutions from a technical and commercial viewpoint

  • Writing proposals and, working with Product Management, to develop standard/reusable documents to streamline this process.

  • Presenting solutions/options to customers (this may range from informal discussions to being part of a formal team ‘pitch’ in a tender process).

  • Costing and bid preparation, including public tenders

3. Supporting the sales team in developing winning strategies, providing market and product insights to Product Management, and using time and resources efficiently to achieve sales targets.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in engineering, science, or project management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a technical mindset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Proficiency with common office software (especially Excel).

  • A self-starter attitude, high motivation, and ability to work independently.

  • Willingness to travel and engage with customers across North America.

  • Preferably you are located within commute distance to our facility in Billerica, MA.

United States Base Compensation: $95,000.00 - $119,000.00

The posted pay range for this position is an estimate based on current market data and internal pay structure. Final compensation may vary above or below this range depending on factors such as experience, education (including licensure and certifications),  qualifications, performance, and geographic location, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
